Match Commentary

92' FULL-TIME: A disjointed effort from England; only Lennon really advanced his cause, although several players will have been glad for the chance to regain some match fitness.
90' GOOD EFFORT! Cole picks the ball up, 25 yards out, and drives a low shot goalwards, but Zhevnov makes a good save, low down.
89' The PA system announces Lennon as the Man of the Match.
88' Carrick bends the free-kick in to the middle, Dawson heads for goal, and the keeper rather makes a mess of turning it over for a corner.
88' Lennon is fouled for the umpteenth time as he beats his marker around the outside. Free-kick, down near the corner flag.
87' Carrick spreads a good cross-field pass out to Hargreaves to start another England attack.
86' Korytko plays a good one-two before sending a cross in to the penalty area, but Carson claims comfortably.
84' GET UP, YOU BIG GIRL'S BLOUSE! Joe Cole throws himself to the ground in an effort to win England a free-kick; in the end, he made a bit of a fool of himself, as there was no-one anywhere near him.
83' ...He curls it in to the middle, but the ball doesn't pass the first man, who heads clear. Poor set-piece from the Tottenham midfielder.
83' Ashley Cole is fouled as he tried to get on the end of Joe Cole's pass down the left wing. Free-kick. Carrick stands over it...
82' As unlikely as it seems, the ten men of Belarus have taken the lead against World Cup-hopefuls England. How embarrassing.
81' GOAL! Kornilenko stuns England as he collects a short pass, bursts in to the penalty area and slides a shot past Carson and in to the far corner.
80' ALMOST! Walcott picks up a loose clearance from the Belarus defender before slamming a 25-yard shot goalwards, although it is straight at the keeper. Great effort from the youngster.
79' ENGLAND SUB: Defoe comes on to replace Crouch; Dawson replaces Downing. Crouch has done okay this evening, although he hasn't really suggested that he can replace Rooney up front.
78' The fans manage to rouse themselves from their coma for a quick rendition of 'Land of Hope and Glory.'
77' Lennon again breezes past the full-back, although his cut back is deflected behind for another corner.
77' Campbell and Carragher have been really solid for England in this second-half; they have given Belarus nothing, and could do nothing about the freak equaliser.
76' Crouch almost gets on the end of a through-ball in to the penalty area, but Zhevnov comes out and makes a brave save.
75' ALMOST! England win a corner when Cole's shot from a tight angle is deflected wide of the far post.
75' Lennon has really advanced himself in the World Cup pecking order this evening; he has been so elusive and has easily been England's best player.
74' BELARUS SUB: Kashevsky replaces Romashenko.
73' OFF! Omelianchuk is shown a second yellow card in the space of twenty seconds for another foul on Lennon, and is shown the red card. Ridiculous.
73' Lennon shows another incredible touch to help him past his marker, but Omelianchuk pulls him back; he is shown the yellow card for his effort.
72' Hargreaves goes on a good break forward from his position at full-back, but his left-foot shot is deflected and floats through to the keeper.
71' A free-kick is played in to the Belarus penalty area, but Crouch mis-kicks when six yards out and the ball runs away for a throw.
71' Lennon is fouled twice in the space of about ten seconds. He has been the brightest of sparks for England this evening.
70' Downing isn't happy when Korytko leaves his foot in in a challenge; England will be thankful to get out of this game without any further injuries.
69' The England bench and senior players in the crowd look a little subdued; the injury to Green has really hit them hard.
68' Downing shows good defensive awareness to track back and shadow the run of Korytko, but he then ruins his good work by fouling the midfielder.
67' Cole gives the ball away in his own half with a mis-kick that wouldn't have looked out of place in a local park-kickabout.
66' England are giving Walcott a lot of the ball early on in his first run-out; they obviously have a lot of confidence in the 17-year-old striker.
65' A tantalising glimpse of what Walcott could offer as he bursts between two Belarus defenders before being brought down by a cynical challenge. The crowd are loving Walcott.
65' The sad news from the England camp is that Green has ruptured his groin and is DEFINITELY out of the World Cup; that is shattering news for the young Norwich keeper.
64' BELARUS SUB: Kutuzov is replaced by Kontsevoy.
63' Romashenko is shown the first yellow card of the evening for a crude foul on Lennon out on the touchline.
63' Joe Cole is playing in an advanced position in the middle of the midfield; it is a chance to show what he can do in a more creative role.
62' ENGLAND SUBS: Joe Cole and Walcott replace Owen and Jenas. The stadium errupts as Walcott comes on to make his international debut.
62' BELARUS OFF: Shagoiko replaces Kulchy.
61' Owen can't quite bring Hargreaves' lofted pass down on his chest, allowing the Belarus defender to get back and put the ball out for a throw.
60' England have a very strong shout for a penalty when Downing's corner is blatantly handled in the penalty area, but the referee says he didn't see it. Why, I don't quite no.
59' England win a corner when Owen can't quite control Lennon's ball in to his feet, and a Belarus defender puts it out.
58' No signs of any further substitutions from Sven; the World is itching for a glimse of Walcott, and the cool Swede is keeping us all waiting.
57' Hargreaves again gives the ball away in a dangerous spot; he is full of apologies to his team-mates but needs to start showing a lot more care.
56' England are suddenly playing with extraordinary confidence; they seem intent on putting on some sort of showboating master-class.
55' Lennon goes on a good run as he cuts in from the right wing, but his attempted backheel through to Owen isn't read and goes through to the keeper. Great stuff.
55' Crouch shows some sublime skills inside the centre-circle, real showboating from the Pele-esque England front-man.
54' England kick off, with the goal allowed and the score at 1-1. Kutuzov, who rolled the ball in to the net with Green down injured, is being booed everytime he touches the ball.
53' ENGLAND SUB: Carson replaces Green; England's fourth-choice keeper comes on, and looks like he will now be promoted from the stand-by list in to the full squad for the tournament in Germany.
53' Green is being stretchered off the pitch; it looks like his World Cup is over - it looks a nasty leg injury of some description.
52' There seems to be some concern over Green, who receives treatment on the pitch. Kutuzov might have shown some pity by putting the ball out, but he instead took the more ruthless option and levelled for Belarus.
51' GOAL! Amazing goal! Green hurts himself taking a goal-kick and collapses on the turf. Kutuzov pickes the ball up just outside the area and rolls the ball in to the empty net.
50' DREADFUL! Korytko tries to feed a pass down the channel, but his team-mate out on the wing didn't fancy the chase and the ball runs out.
49' Belarus have made a positive start to the second half; they have pushed England back in to their own half, and aren't allowing them to dictate the play.
48' WOBBLY! Romashenko fires in the free-kick, and Green rather makes a hash of the save, allowing the ball to slip through his fingers for a corner.
48' Belarus win a free-kick, 40 yards out. Romashenko stands over the ball...
47' Hargreaves gets caught a little out of position, but his pace allows him to get back and rob the ball off Romashenko.
46' England kick off the second half, in an atmosphere akin to a funeral inside the Madjeski Stadium.
45' ENGLAND SUB: Green replaces James; Sven gives Norwich City's Rob Green a run-out.
45' HALF-TIME: A good half from England, although Belarus have been pretty dreadful. Some good performances in the England side, and lots of positives.
45' OFF THE POST! A Belarus corner is flicked on, and ricochets off the post before James collects.
44' Hargreaves gives the ball away a bit cheaply on the halfway line, but he does well to get back and ensure his mistake isn't too costly.
43' Owen wins a free-kick when he is barged off the ball, 35 yards out. He has worked hard in this first half, and his match-fitness should be all the better for it.
42' Another long-range shot, this time from Yurevich, flies well wide of James' goal.
41' Bulyga attempts a shot from distance, but Carragher blocks on the edge of the penalty area.
40' England win a corner when Cole breaks well down the left. Carrick curls the ball in to the middle, but Zhevnon claims comfortably.
39' England can only use six substitutes tonight, so Eriksson will have to be choose about who he wants to give a run-out to.
38' England have done really well in forward areas, with Downing, Crouch and Lennon particularly impressing, but the standard of defending from Belarus has been so poor.
37' Hargreaves makes a good tackle on halfway before taking the chance to break forward; he tries to feed a low ball in to the run of Owen, but Belarus intercept. Good play.
36' That goal should give England confidence to go on and get a couple more, and Jenas will take real heart from his first international goal for England.
35' It is a goal that England have deserved; Owen's initial header was superb, and with the goalkeeper in a heap on the floor, Jenas had an empty net to score in to.
34' GOAL! Downing sends the free-kick in to the middle. Owen's header bounces back off the post, but Jenas nods home the rebound.
33' Campbell's forceful drive wins England a free-kick, out on the left wing...
32' Downing is a very direct winger; he likes to get the ball out of his feet and get crosses in to the box early. If he can find Crouch with a couple, England could have some joy this evening.
31' WOOPS! Downing's shot is straight at the keeper, but he can only parry the ball up in the air; luckily for Zhevnov, Crouch is unable to nod the rebound goalwards.
31' Jenas launches a superb counter-attack following a Belarus corner; he beats a couple of players as he surges towards goal and is eventually brought down, just outside the penalty area. Free-kick to England, in a dangerous spot...
30' GOOD TACKLE! Campbell makes an important tackle inside his own penalty area to end a threatening run from the Belarus danger-man, Romashenko.
29' Hargreaves shows good pace to track back and see off the danger as a through-ball is directed in to the corner.
28' AMBITIOUS! Downing fires in an ambitious free-kick from 30 yards. It takes a deflection off the top of the wall and goes out for a corner.
27' Belarus have started to come in to the game a little more in the last five minutes or so; they look to have a goal in them, if England get sloppy.
26' RUBBISH! Bulyga fires a shot high over the crossbar from 25 yards out. Poor effort, never troubling James.
25' ALMOST! Kalychev cuts in from the right wing and fires in a low cross, but it is inches from the boot of Kutuzov and James is able to collect.
24' Lennon gets to the by-line and sends over another cross; Crouch has made a near-post run, but Lennon's chip goes over his head.
23' The atmosphere is very subdued; the crowd don't appear to be able to fully get in to the match. Hardly surprising, considering it is barely even a friendly international.
22' Of course, one of the major objectives of this evening's match is to give some players a but of fitness; Cole, Campbell and Owen in particular. They look in good shape from where I'm sitting.
21' Jenas does well in midfield, robbing Korytko of the ball before drawing a foul. The Tottenham midfielder has made a good start.
20' Eriksson said before the game that we will almost definitely get the chance to see young Theo Walcott at some stage this evening; it will be very interesting to see how he copes at international level.
19' It's hard to gauge just how well England are doing in this match, because Belarus look simply awful; they are all over the place at the back, and England are picking them apart at will.
18' SO CLOSE! Carrick chips a free-kick in to the crowded penalty area; it evades everyone in the area, but bounces a yard or so wide of the far post.
17' Crouch picks up a lose ball before running at the heart of the Belarus defence, but he is stopped on the edge of the penalty area by a good tackle.
16' GOOD CHANCE! Crouch pulls off his marker and is found by a good cross from Jenas, but the Liverpool striker's attempted volley flies high over the crossbar. He had time to bring the ball down, but chose the wrong option.
15' Almost all of England's early attacks have come down the right side; Downing hasn't had much chance to get on the ball on England's left flank.
15' SO CLOSE! Lennon beats his marker once again, knocking the ball past him and using his explosive pace before chipping a shot just over the crossbar. Great stuff from the 19-year-old.
14' James makes an easy save when Kalachev fires in a shot from distance.
13' There is a really good crowd inside the stadium, though there isn't much of an atmosphere at the moment.
12' Belarus launch a promising counter-attack, but Carragher ends it by doing what he does best - shoulder charging the striker off the ball and hoofing it up-field for Crouch.
11' Michael Owen, the England captain tonight, also had a good chance when Downing's cute pass put him through one-on-one with the keeper, who made a good save with his legs.
11' Tottenham winger Lennon has shown some really good skills down the right wing; he is tormenting his full-back and beating him with ease.
10' Peter Crouch has had a goal ruled out for off-side, after great work down the right by Lennon.
9' Sorry for the delay; the game is up and running, and England have made a positive start to this World Cup warm-up game in Reading.
