Alexis Sanchez rescues Man Utd late as Eric Dier steers Tottenham over Cardiff

A 90th-minute goal by Alexis Sanchez helped Manchester United complete an unlikely comeback and claim a 3-2 win over Newcastle United at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Juan Mata and Anthony Martial also scored in the second half for United, who came back from a two-goal deficit to end a run of four games without a win in all competitions -- form that has manager Jose Mourinho under fire.

Newcastle, who began the day second-bottom in the table on goal difference, had not held a lead in any league game this season before Kenedy opened the scoring in the seventh minute and Yoshinori Muto doubled it three minutes later.

Sanchez then provided the winner shortly before the whistle, scoring from a header to hand United the win.

Eric Dier scored his first Premier League goal in 18 months as Tottenham Hotspur defeated 10-man Cardiff City 1-0 at Wembley Stadium on Saturday.

Dier, who last scored in the league on April 8, 2017, put Spurs ahead after seven minutes. He struck from six yards out after Davinson Sanchez's header, from a corner, was blocked by Joe Bennett into Dier's path.

Lucas Moura and Son Heung-Min each failed to double the lead before half-time before Cardiff's Joe Ralls was sent off in the 58th minute for a lunging tackle on Moura.

Tottenham were last defeated by a promoted team in April 2012, a run of 38 games.

Gylfi Sigurdsson curled a marvellous shot into the top left corner from 30 yards as Everton defeated 10-man Leicester City 2-1 at the King Power Stadium.

Sigurdsson, who netted his 50th Premier League goal, put his side back ahead in the 77th minute after Richarlison's volley in the seventh was answered by Leicester's Ricardo Pereira in the 40th.

Wes Morgan was shown a second yellow card in the 63rd minute for Leicester, marking the second time in his last three league games he was sent off.

Josh King scored two first-half goals as Bournemouth thrashed 10-man Watford 4-0 at Vicarage Road.

David Brooks put Bournemouth ahead in the 14th minute before Christian Kabasele was sent off in the 32nd after picking up his second yellow card for fouling King in the area.

King converted the penalty, then scored his second just before half-time, heading home from a cross by Callum Wilson deep into the box.

Wilson then scored on Bournemouth's first attack in the second half, increasing the lead in the 46th minute after controlling Ryan Fraser's cross and sending it into an open net to seal his side's largest away Premier League margin of victory.

Matt Doherty scored his first Premier League goal, and his first since March, as Wolverhampton Wanderers won 1-0 at Crystal Palace.

Doherty played a one-two with Raul Jimenez in the 56th minute and beat Wayne Hennessey at the near post as Wolves won for the fourth time in five league games.

Manager Nuno Espirito Santo named the same starting lineup for the eighth consecutive game, making him the first manager in Premier League history to do so.

Christopher Schindler's second-half leveller gave Huddersfield Town a 1-1 draw against Burnley at Turf Moor.

Schindler scored in the 66th minute after Burnley took the lead in the 20th through Sam Vokes, with both players scoring from a header.
