LA Galaxy attacker Giovani dos Santos will travel to the World Cup with Mexico, while Jurgen Damm, Jesus Molina and Oswaldo Alanis have been cut from Mexico's 27-player squad.
El Tri will travel to Denmark on Sunday evening with 24 players, one more than will be on the list handed to FIFA on Monday, with coach Juan Carlos Osorio still sweating over the fitness of trio Diego Reyes, Andres Guardado and Hector Moreno.
All three are expected to be included in the final 23-player list, with young midfielder Erick Gutierrez likely to be the odd player out and brought along only in case any of Guardado, Moreno or Reyes can't prove their fitness.
Dos Santos' place was the subject of considerable speculation as the 29-year-old has only played 326 minutes for the Galaxy in 2018 amid a number of minor injuries and there has been concern about his form over the past 18 months.
Rafa Marquez also made the cut and will travel to his fifth World Cup. The 39-year-old will become only the third player in history to appear at five World Cups should he see any playing time in Russia.
Osorio had wanted to name his final 23-player squad on May 14, but instead named 28 because of ongoing injury concerns. Center-back Nestor Araujo has already had to leave camp and will miss the World Cup with a right knee problem.
