PASADENA, Calif. (AP) -- Sebastien Vorbe scored three minutes into second-half injury time to give the Los Angeles Galaxy a 2-1 victory over the San Jose Earthquakes on Wednesday night.
Ezra Hendrickson's pass to Peter Vagenas ricocheted to Vorbe, who volleyed the ball from 13 yards into the upper-right corner of the net.
The victory at the Rose Bowl put the Galaxy (14-8-8) into a tie with Kansas City for first place in the Western Division. Both teams have 50 points.
Seth George gave Los Angeles a 1-0 lead in the 40th minute. George took Sasha Victorine's header from the right side of the penalty area and scored from 11 yards inside the left post.
San Jose (6-16-8) tied it in the 90th minute on Dario Brose's penalty kick.
The Earthquakes, who have lost eight of nine, established a season low with four total shots and tied a season-low with only two shots on goal.
