Revs: Four straight over United

FOXBORO, Mass. (AP) -- Jose Luis Morales scored his first MLS goal in the 59th minute as the New England Revolution beat D.C. United 1-0 on Wednesday night.

New England, fighting for a playoff spot, improved to 12-11-6 with three games remaining. The Revolution are in sixth place with 42 points; Colorado and Dallas each have 40, and Columbus has 38. The top eight teams make the playoffs.

The Revolution also extended their winning streak against D.C. to four games.

Out of playoff contention, the three-time league champion United (7-17-6) were missing 10 top players because of international commitments and injuries.

Morales scored off a throw-in from Ted Chronopoulos, weaving past a pair of defenders and sending a 10-yard shot into the goal.

New England had a goal called back in the 68th minute when John Harkes was ruled offside before scoring.
