Paxton Pomykal scored a pair of goals -- the first tallies of his MLS career -- to lead FC Dallas to a 4-2 victory over Real Salt Lake on Saturday.
Salt Lake played with just 10 men for most of the match and never recovered after falling behind in the opening minute. RSL have conceded 11 goals over the club's last three matches.
Dallas scored before the match was a minute old. Receiving a short through-ball on the left side, Michael Barrios laid a one-touch pass off to Gruezo just above the penalty spot. With Nick Rimando drawn to the top of the six-yard box, Gruezo sent the ball into the top left corner for the quick 1-0 lead.
Damir Kreilach was sent off with a red card in the 17th minute because of violent conduct, putting Salt Lake down a man the rest of the way.
RSL briefly equalized in the 31st minute. Sebastian Saucedo flicked the ball back to Savarino outside the top of the box, and after one touch around a defender, Savarino curled a bouncing shot past three defenders, threading it inside the right post.
Dallas responded immediately with Pomykal's first goal in the 32nd minute. He settled a deflected ball, split a pair of defenders and then blasted it past Rimando's left side to put FCD right back on top.
Pomykal earned the brace in the 64th minute when he blasted a left-footer from outside the box inside the right post.
Silva pulled one back in the 66th minute. He sprang up on a corner kick and headed in the ball while climbing Reggie Cannon's back to get to it.
Dallas reclaimed a two-goal lead in the 69th minute. Barrios sent a cross inside the 6-yard box, and Ferreira beat a pair of RSL players to the ball and redirected it past Rimando inside the left post.
Dallas keeper Jose Luis Gonzalez finished with one save, while Rimando had two.
