La Liga clubs spent €492.2 million (£413.89m) on signings in the summer transfer window, according to figures reported by AS.
It was a quiet window by previous Liga standards, with regular big spenders Real Madrid paying just €30m to bring Alvaro Morata back to the Bernabeu from Juventus.
Champions Barcelona were the biggest spenders, splashing out €122.4m on six signings, with Portugal midfielder Andre Gomes -- who cost an initial €35m from Valencia -- the most expensive deal of the window in La Liga.
Atletico Madrid spent €81m on five summer acquisitions, while Europa League champions Sevilla were third on the list, spending €56.2m.
However, Sevilla received €86.2m from the sale of players including Kevin Gameiro, who went to Atletico in a €32m deal.
Valencia brought in the most revenue from transfers, with the departures of Gomes, Paco Alcacer and Shkodran Mustafi yielding €112.2m.
They spent €32m on acquisitions, including €22million euros for Mustafi's replacement, Argentina defender Ezequiel Garay.
Athletic Bilbao were the only Liga club not to make any signings.
