Barcelona's Lionel Messi and Javier Mascherano as well as Juventus forward Carlos Tevez were among the 22 international players recalled by Argentina coach Gerardo Martino for upcoming March friendlies in the United States.
Argentina will play El Salvador on March 28 at FedExField in Landover, Maryland, and versus Ecuador three days later at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
Martino will name the remaining players active in the Argentina league after Monday's action. Zenit defender Ezequiel Garay and Paris Saint-Germain forward Ezequiel Lavezzi are returning to the Albiceleste after injuries while defender Martin Demichelis did not get called up.
