Javier Orozco scored four goals as Santos Laguna crushed Queretaro 5-0 in the first leg of the Clausura final.
Putting the game to bed at what is effectively half-time, the Mexico international scored in the fourth, 26th, 32nd and 62nd minutes, stunning the visitors.
Four-nil was a tough enough scoreline for them to face and then Diego Gonzalez added a fifth with 10 minutes remaining.
Queretaro were entirely out of sorts in the match and even the appearance of Brazil legend Ronaldinho at halftime did nothing to help the visitors get on track.
The two teams meet again on Sunday in the second leg with Santos a 99.4 percent favorite to win the club's fifth Liga MX title.
