Real Madrid have confirmed that Karim Benzema has suffered a hamstring injury, making the striker a doubt for Saturday's match against Real Sociedad.
Benzema was substituted in the Champions League semifinal draw against Manchester City on Tuesday with a hip problem, but Spanish media reports say the injury was not a recurrence of the muscle injury that forced him out of the 3-2 La Liga win over Rayo Vallecano the previous weekend as was initially feared.

Spanish media reports say that he is working to be fit for Real Madrid's return leg clash at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu against Manchester City.
The medical report said: "Following tests carried out today on the player Karim Benzema at the Sanitas La Moraleja University Hospital, he has been diagnosed with a muscle injury in his left hamstring. His recovery will continue to be assessed."
Real Madrid will also likely play the key La Liga match on Saturday at Anoeta without the services of striker Cristiano Ronaldo, who sat out the Champions League semifinal first leg with a hamstring injury and is working to be fit for the return match.
