The New York Red Bulls added right-back Michael Murillo on loan from Panamanian club San Francisco on Saturday.
The 21-year-old is a Panama international, with nine caps since making his debut for his country last year.
"Michael is a player that we identified with our scouting network and have watched closely," Red Bulls coach Jesse Marsch said in statement. "He fits the way we want to play and will be a good addition to our group."
Murillo has played for San Francisco top team since 2014 and has made 42 appearances with three goals.
"I went down to see Michael play in person with our Head Scout Rob Elliot and we were impressed," said Red Bulls assistant Denis Hamlett.
"After watching him play and speaking with him, we believe that Michael fits our club philosophy and we are glad to add him to our team for 2017."
