TOP STORY: PSG would look to Lewandowski if Mbappe leaves
Paris Saint-Germain are considering a move for Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski if Kylian Mbappe does not sign a new contract by the end of the season.
Mbappe, 22, is out of contract in 2022, and with interest from Real Madrid and an agreement over an extension not seemingly any closer, the Parisians are looking at potential successors.
Le10 Sport reports that the Ligue 1 side are keen to make a move for the Poland international happen and they would make him one of the highest earners at the club.
Lewandowski, 33, reportedly prefers to stay at Bayern for the time being but hasn't ruled out a potential move away from Germany. His current deal runs until 2023, and while he wouldn't be against signing an improved contract, it would come under the guarantee of being a key part of the team despite his advancing age.
The striker has been at Bayern since 2014, when he joined on a free transfer after leaving rivals Borussia Dortmund. Since then, he has scored 307 goals in 338 appearances for the club, even beating Gerd Muller's record for goals in a single Bundesliga season with 41 in the last campaign.

16.28 BST: Influential football agent Pini Zahavi has been charged in Belgium as part of an investigation into alleged wrongdoing at second-division club Royal Excelsior Mouscron, the federal prosecutor's office said on Friday.
Zahavi is one of the most influential agents in world football. He was involved in the transfers of many star players, including Neymar's €222m world record move to Paris Saint-Germain in 2017.
The office confirmed Zahavi's indictment following reports in the Belgian press that the 78-year-old former journalist had been charged by an investigating judge with "forgery, use of forgeries, swindling and money laundering" in the Mouscron case.
The club was placed under provisional administration two years ago because of suspicions of money laundering and was later charged.
16.04 BST: Mohamed Salah's contract situation at Liverpool remains unresolved, with the forward yet to agree a deal to replace his existing terms which expire in June 2023, but sources told ESPN his focus and dedication amid the uncertainty have further enhanced his reputation among his teammates.
Salah and fellow forwards Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino, who are all free agents at the end of the 2022-23 season, have yet to extend their contracts, but Salah's situation is the one that is likely to be the most challenging according to sources, with talks ongoing.
The former Chelsea and Roma forward has previously refused to play down the prospect of a move to LaLiga, with both Real Madrid and Barcelona both linked with the 29-year-old in the past, but neither team are in a position to sign Salah in the coming transfer windows due to financial issues at both clubs and Real's primary focus on signing Kylian Mbappe. Paris Saint-Germain have also been admirers of Salah over recent seasons, but the summer signing of Lionel Messi appears to have closed the door on any possible move.
Liverpool are aware of the limited options Salah has in terms moving away from Anfield for a fee in 2022, but with the Egypt international set to turn 30 next June, sources said the club must also consider the financial implications of committing to a long-term deal for a player who would be in his mid-30s by the time it expires.
15.37 BST: Manchester City are considering an approach for Villarreal defender Pau Torres, says Marca.
Torres, 24, has been linked with Manchester United and Tottenham, but City sporting director Txiki Begiristain has reportedly already been in contact with Villarreal over a €60m move.

Leeds are aware of growing interest in Phillips in the wake of his impressive performances during England's run to the Euro 2020 final this summer and are determined to reward the player with a lucrative new deal to avoid the risk of him being tempted away from the club.
Sources said that Liverpool and City are both monitoring Phillips's progress with Leeds and England, while reports this week linked United with a move as they search for alternatives to West Ham's Declan Rice.
But while talks with Leeds are at an early stage, sources said they are confident a deal can be struck with a player who has become a key figure under coach Marcelo Bielsa
14.34 BST: Does Cristiano Ronaldo present a problem for his manager at Man United?
13.45 BST: The Daily Telegraph says that Timo Werner is considering his future at Chelsea.
Werner, 25, joined the club from RB Leipzig in 2020 for €53m but has only scored 13 goals in 59 games. Now the Blues have spent €115m to bring back striker Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan, the Germany international is feeling a bit left out and wants to play regularly elsewhere if he doesn't get more chances.
12.51 BST: Ronald Koeman has suggested Barcelona's hierarchy are showing him a lack of respect by leaking stories about his future in what may prove his final news conference as the club's coach.
The pressure on Koeman has increased following Wednesday's 3-0 defeat to Benfica in the Champions League. Local media suggest he will be fired after Saturday's league game at Atletico Madrid, regardless of the result, while ESPN revealed on Friday that president Joan Laporta has stepped up the search for a replacement.
Koeman, 58, remains in charge for now but he appeared to confirm that the stories which have surfaced in the aftermath of the defeat to Benfica are true.
"The club have said nothing to me," Koeman said on Friday. "I've learned that the president was [at the training ground] this morning, but I have not seen him. We're preparing for Saturday's game. I can't say anything. But I have eyes and ears and I know a lot of things have been leaked, which I imagine are true, but no one has said anything to me."
Asked about his relationship with Laporta, which has deteriorated since the president first tried to replace him in the summer, Koeman refused to answer. He also said there was no need to respond when asked if he felt he had been disrespected by the club.
"It's not necessary to answer that," the Dutchman replied. "What do you think? It's not even about being good or bad. For me, it's the treatment that matters."
12.20 BST: Football Insider claims that any club wanting to sign Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie will have to pay €35m.
McKennie, 23, was linked with a move to West Ham, as well as Tottenham and Arsenal, this summer. But the United States international won't be allowed to depart unless Juve land around double the €18.5m they paid Schalke to sign him permanently after his loan expired earlier this year.
11.57 BST: Defensa Central reports that Barcelona want to sign Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Ander Herrera.
Herrera, 32, moved to Paris from Man United in 2019 but now faces some stiff competition for a first-team place. Barcelona are looking to bolster their midfield with experienced players and need to do a deal on the cheap given their awful financial situation.
11.33 BST: Here's what Atletico Madrid's Luis Suarez felt about leaving Barcelona last year.
10.51 BST: The chances of Alexandre Lacazette leaving Arsenal in January are increasing as the striker's lack of game-time continues, sources told ESPN's James Olley.
Atletico Madrid, Juventus and Sevilla are among the clubs who have expressed an interest in Lacazette, who could be used in a player-plus-cash deal. Arsenal have previously scouted Sevilla forward Youssef En-Nesyri.
Lacazette, 30, has made one substitute appearance in the Premier League this season -- in August's 5-0 defeat at Manchester City -- and the Gunners' absence from European football this season means there are fewer matches and less chance of rotation.
Manager Mikel Arteta has insisted Lacazette remains a part of his plans but ESPN reported on Sept. 17 there is no contract offer on the table despite his deal running out at the end of the season. Lacazette is free to talk to overseas clubs from Jan. 1 but would not be able to complete a free transfer until the summer.
However, sources claim the France international is becoming minded to push for a move before then -- a situation that has financial appeal to Arsenal given they would be able to command a transfer fee if he left midseason.
10.04 BST: Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek is set to leave in January, says the Daily Mail.
Van de Beek was left on the bench in the Champions League win over Villarreal. and was visibly unhappy about it.
The reports says that "The furious Dutchman showed his frustration by taking a piece of chewing gum out of his mouth and hurling it into the technical area where Solskjaer and his assistant Mike Phelan were standing."
The 24-year-old almost left the club on loan over the summer but a move to Everton collapsed.
09.34 BST: Cristiano Ronaldo's demand for the highest standards at Manchester United has led to manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to urge his players to move the ball quicker in attacking areas in order to get the best out of the Portugal forward, sources told ESPN's Mark Ogden.
Ronaldo has scored five goals in five games for United since returning to the club from Juventus in the summer, after a 12-year absence. But sources told ESPN that Ronaldo has made it clear to Solskjaer and his coaches that he can further increase his goal ratio if United become sharper and quicker when distributing the ball in the opposition half.
Sources told ESPN that United's coaching staff believe Raphael Varane's arrival from Real Madrid has helped improve the team's speed of play, with the France international more capable of moving the ball forward with pace and precision than Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly.
But work is ongoing on the training pitch to get the ball to Ronaldo quicker, as Solskjaer attempts to make United more ruthless in front of goal.
08.30 BST: Barcelona continue to seek alternatives to replace Ronald Koeman, with former Juventus coach Andrea Pirlo and River Plate manager Marcelo Gallardo the latest names added to the list of candidates, several sources have told ESPN.
While former Barcelona captain Xavi Hernandez and Belgium coach Roberto Martinez remain on the list, several sources have told ESPN that Barca president Joan Laporta could also opt for Albert Capellas, who works in Barca's youth academy, as an urgent solution.
Barca vice president Eduard Romeu announced earlier this week that money would not be a problem for the club to part company with Koeman, but there are several discrepancies as to how to carry out the coach's dismissal without breaking LaLiga's rules on salary caps.
LaLiga announced on Wednesday that Barca's spending limit for the 2021-22 campaign is €97.9 million and that the club will only be able to spend 25% of what they save in wages or make in transfer fees on registering new players or making signings.
Nevertheless, various sources told ESPN that those limitations would not affect the hiring of a new coach as Koeman's dismissal would not count as a saving but rather as an expense as it is a termination of employment. Thus, Barcelona could increase its salary limit by 4% to sign a new coach based on Article 74 of the economic control regulations.
