Another weekend of intense football action is in the bag, with all the top teams from European leagues competing as the title race nears the end.

In the Premier League, leaders Arsenal once again dropped points after a remarkable 3-3 draw against Southampton. Tottenham suffered an embarrassing 6-1 defeat against top-four rivals Newcastle while Liverpool did enough to beat Nottingham Forest 3-2.

The FA Cup final will be a Manchester Derby after United overcame Brighton in penalties while City comfortably beat Sheffield United 3-0.

Elsewhere, Bayern Munich suffered another loss against Mainz, handing the Bundesliga title advantage to Borussia Dortmund, who won their match against Eintracht Frankfurt. Napoli are on the verge of Serie A title after defeating Juventus and Barcelona maintained their 11-point lead at the top of LaLiga table after beating Atletico Madrid. And Kylian Mbappe scored twice in PSG's win over Angers.

Bukayo Saka became the first Arsenal player with more than 10 goals and more than 10 assists in a Premier League season since Santi Cazorla in 2012-13.


Southampton became the first team in Premier League history to start the day bottom of the table and score 3+ goals against the team starting the day top.


Gabriel Martinelli joined Nicolas Anelka (1998-99) as the only Arsenal players under 22-years-old to score 15 goals in a single Premier League season.


Bukayo Saka (23) and Gabriel Martinelli (20) are only the second pair of teammates aged 21 and under to both record 20+ goal involvements in a single Premier League season, after Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney did it in 2006-07.


Only Southampton (1) have kept fewer clean sheets in home matches in the Premier League this season than Arsenal (3).


Aston Villa have scored in all 19 of their Premier League games under Unai Emery. This is the longest consecutive scoring run any team has had from the start of a manager's tenure in Premier League history.


Newcastle took a 5-0 lead within 21 minutes against Tottenham on Sunday. It is the second-earliest a team has done so in Premier League history, after Manchester City vs. Watford in September 2019 (18th minute).


Trent Alexander-Arnold assisted four times in the last three games. He had only three assists in the first 37 games played in all competitions this season.



Manchester City's Riyad Mahrez scored the first ever FA Cup semifinal hat-trick at Wembley Stadium and also the first in the semifinal of the competition overall since Manchester United's Alex Dawson did it in 1958 against Fulham.


At 32 years and 60 days, Riyad Mahrez became the oldest player to score a hat trick for a team managed by Pep Guardiola.


Manchester City became the first team to reach the FA Cup final without conceding a single goal since Everton in 1965-66.


Manchester City are now on a 11-game winning streak in all competitions. This is their longest since winning 21 straight matches between December 2020-March 2021. 3 Only for their third time in their history, Manchester United have reached the final of both the League Cup and FA Cup in the same season. They did it back in 1982-83 and 1993-94.


Brighton have never won a competitive match at Wembley Stadium.

Lyon's Alexandre Lacazette has been involved in 300 career goals in all competitions (227 goals and 73 assists with Lyon, Arsenal and the France national team).


Kylian Mbappe has now been involved in 214 Ligue 1 goals (157 goals, 57 assists), equalling the record for goals and assists in the top-flight held by Dimitri Payet (Opta records since 2006-07).



Lionel Messi now has 30 goal contributions in Ligue 1. He's only the third player since Eden Hazard (2011-12) and Mbappe (2020-21) to have 30 goal contributions in the league.

Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo couldn't make an impact for his team Al-Nassr, who lost their crucial league match against defending champions Al-Hilal 2-0.
