Former U.S. head coach Jurgen Klinsmann has said there is "no truth" in reports that he could return to coaching at Sunderland.
Klinsmann, 52, has been out of coaching since November, when he was sacked by the United States.
Earlier this week, reports had linked the former Germany striker with a return to coaching, with the Daily Mail saying that Sunderland could approach him if their prospective new German owners completed a takeover.
But in a brief message posted on Facebook following a concert by Styx in Los Angeles, Klinsmann said he "had a blast last night" and added: "On another front: No truth on rumours coaching Sunderland FC in the near future."
Union Berlin coach Jens Keller has also been linked with the Sunderland job.
