"The wise guys like to cast their ballots first," sportsbook director Tony Nevill said, adding that "three to four" times more money had been bet on Mississippi State than Auburn at his shop.
Extra point: Auburn is 2-11 against the spread (ATS) in its past 13 games. The Tigers had covered the spread in their 12 previous games.
Two-point conversion: Auburn is making a change at quarterback, moving to promising redshirt freshman Sean White, who will be making his first collegiate start.
BYU at Michigan (-7, 45), noon: Michigan opened as a 3.5-point favorite at the Wynn. The line grew all the way up minus-7 on Thursday.
Georgia Tech (-7.5, 56) at Duke, noon: Georgia Tech coach Paul Johnson is 32-23-1 ATS following a straight-up loss in his career. The Yellow Jackets lost to Notre Dame last week.
Rutgers at Kansas (-14, 64), noon: MGM vice president Jay Rood: "Rutgers is getting all the early action from the sharps so far and the outlook is bleak to get much offsetting action on Kansas."
LSU (-24, 47) at Syracuse, noon: LSU has nine draft-eligible NFL prospects, according to ESPN's Todd McShay; Syracuse has four.
Bowling Green (-4, 74) at Purdue, noon: Purdue opened as 2-point favorites at the Wynn, but Bowling Green quickly became the favorite. The Falcons were favored by two on Thursday at most shops, before more money came in on them, pushing the line to minus-5.
Louisiana-Monroe at Alabama (-38, 54.5), 4 p.m.: The Crimson Tide are 3-11 ATS after a straight-up loss under coach Nick Saban.
TCU (-6.5, 82) at Texas Tech, 4:45 p.m.: The Horned Frogs opened as 10-point favorites at the Wynn, but have been bet down to as low as minus-6.5. TCU is 7-2 ATS in Big 12 play dating back to last season.
Vanderbilt at Ole Miss (-24.5, 54), 7 p.m.: Teams' ATS record in the following game after playing Alabama is 16-6 in the past three seasons, including 2-0 this season. The Rebels defeated Alabama last week and are 6-3 ATS in SEC play dating back to last season.
Missouri at Kentucky (-2.5, 45) 7:30 p.m.: As of Thursday evening, Missouri had attracted 18 times more bets than Kentucky at Caesars, the book's biggest decision heading into Friday, according to head of sportsbook operations Leon Bismarck.
UCLA (-3, 66) at Arizona, 8 p.m.: Jay Kornegay, executive director at the Westgate, said Arizona plus-3.5 attracted the biggest sharp action at his shop. This line opened at UCLA minus-4, but dipped down to minus-3 this week after Bruins two-way star Myles Jack was ruled out for the season.
Tennessee (-1.5, 48) at Florida, 3:30 p.m.: The Gators opened as high as 3-point favorites at the Wynn. Florida has won 10 straight against the Vols but is only 3-5-2 ATS in those games.
Rice at Baylor (-34, 72.5): The Bears are 15-4 ATS at home the last three seasons.
Texas A&M (-7, 58.5) vs. Arkansas, 7 p.m.: The Aggies have nine draft-eligible NFL prospects, according to McShay. Arkansas has five.
