U.S. Olympic qualifiers start in Nashville

NEW YORK -- The United States will play its group-round matches for the Olympic men's soccer qualifying tournament in Nashville, Tenn.

CONCACAF released the tournament schedule Thursday. Winners of the two semifinals, which will be played in Kansas City, Kan., get the North and Central American and Caribbean berths in the London Games.

The U.S. will face Cuba (March 22), Canada (March 24) and El Salvador (March 26) in the first round.

Mexico, Honduras, Panama, and Trinidad and Tobago are in the other group, which will play in Carson, Calif.

The Olympic tournament is for under-23 players with three wildcards.
