Some of the most boisterous fans in sports finally have a championship to celebrate, Seattle's first title in any of the four major sports since 1979 -- and its second ever. Fans have shown their appreciation by making the Seahawks the highest-rated NFL team in our rankings.
The Seahawks have the best home field advantage in football: They're 16-1 at home since the start of the 2012 season, the best mark in the NFL, and play in the NFL's most feared stadium. They have a great team (one that includes a young, inexpensive franchise quarterback, the most valuable commodity in American sports), a terrific coach, an owner who is insanely rich even by professional-sports-owner standards (Paul Allen co-founded Microsoft with Bill Gates), arguably the nicest stadium in football and one of the most passionate and loyal fan bases. How loud is it at a Seahawks game? According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the loudest stadium ever. In last season's 34-7 demolition of the Saints on "Monday Night Football," the crowd reached 137.6 decibels, breaking the record set earlier in the 2013 season by the Kansas City Chiefs. It really can't get any better for the Seahawks. The NFL is jokingly referred to as "Not For Long," but all signs point to the Seahawks having sustained success.
