DEN BOSCH, Netherlands -- Martina Hingis rallied from a 4-1 deficit in the first set to beat Jennifer Capriati 7-5, 6-2 on Friday to advance to the Heineken Trophy final.

The top-ranked Hingis will play Ruxandra Dragomir of Romania on Saturday in the grass-court tuneup for Wimbledon. Dragomir, the 1997 winner, beat defending champion Kristina Brandi 6-2, 6-3.

Two-time defending champion Patrick Rafter overcame a rash of errors in the second set to beat Karim Alami of Morocco 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 in the men's quarterfinals.

Rafter, the third-seeded Australian, has won 13 straight matches in three years at Den Bosch.

He netted three balls in the second game of the second set to drop service. Alami took a 3-0 lead and dominated the set. But Rafter regained the upper hand and easily won the decisive set.

In Saturday's semifinal, Rafter will play Magnus Gustafsson. The Swede beat Martin Damm of the Czech Republic 6-3, 3-6, 7-5.

In the other quarterfinals, Michael Chang beat Germany's Karsten Braasch 7-6 (3), 7-6 (2), and France's Nicolas Escude edged Spain's Francisco Clavet 7-5, 6-4.
