BERLIN -- Russia's Anna Kournikova has been granted a wild card for next month's German Open, organizers said Monday.

Kournikova, who has dropped out of the top 60 following a series of poor results, would not have qualified for the main draw of the Berlin event from May 5-11.

World No. 1 Serena Williams and 14 other top-20 players are expected to battle it out on the clay courts of the German capital.
