Eva Asderaki-Moore is 1st female chair umpire for men's singles final

NEW YORK -- Eva Asderaki-Moore became the first woman to serve as chair umpire for the US Open men's final when she refereed the match between Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer. It was also the day that referee Sarah Thomas made her NFL debut.

The US Open also became the first Grand Slam to have women call both the men's final and the women's, since Marija Cicak of Croatia refereed the women's final between Flavia Pennetta and Roberta Vinci on Saturday.

Asderaki-Moore is not the first to serve as chair umpire of a men's Grand Slam final; that milestone went to Sandra de Jenken at the 2007 Australian Open and then again at the French Open that year.
