Torn ACL ends Curry's season

 ESPN.com news services

The Minnesota Lynx will play the rest of the season without veteran forward Andrea Lloyd Curry, who went down with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in the waning minutes of Friday's 65-53 victory at Seattle, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reported.

With a little more than four minutes remaining, Lloyd Curry, 34, changed directions while driving with the ball and collapsed, clutching her left knee. As is the case with most ACL tears, her injury was not caused by contact.

An MRI on Saturday confirmed the tear. The injury -- which she had suffered once already in her 15-year pro career -- will require surgery and months of rehabilitation.
