NEW YORK -- Orlando Miracle guard Nykesha Sales and Indiana
Fever guard Rita Williams will go to the WNBA All-Star Game as
replacements for injured players.
Sales and Williams join the Eastern Conference squad, filling in
for Washington's Chamique Holdsclaw and Cleveland's Chasity Melvin.
Sales, a three-time All-Star, is averaging 15 points and 5.3
rebounds. Williams, headed to her first All-Star game, leads
Indiana with 13.4 points and 3.4 assists per game.
Holdsclaw was voted to the East's starting lineup but is
sidelined at least two weeks with a right foot injury. Melvin,
chosen as a reserve by the league's coaches, broke a bone in her
right eye Sunday against Houston and is expected to be out 2-to-3
weeks.
The All-Star Game is Monday in Orlando.
