Team officials said she would not return to the game.

Bird was injured setting a screen on Minnesota's Teresa Edwards at the 17:37 mark of the first half. Edwards was trying to fight through the screen when her elbow caught Bird in the face. Bird fell to the floor, before running off the court with her hands covering her face.

Edwards was called for a foul on the play.

Bird averaged 12.9 points per game during the regular season and scored 6 points in Seattle's 70-58 victory in Game 1 of the best-of-three series on Saturday.
