KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The Women's Basketball Hall of Fame is changing its selection timeline and will announce its next six-member class on Feb. 13.
Under the new format, the Hall of Fame's board of directors will announce 12 finalists on Jan. 16. It's the first time finalists will be announced before the selection of a six-member class.
The six new members will be introduced in April during the Women's Final Four in Dallas.
The Hall of Fame previously announced its new class each summer during the WNBA All-Star Game. The induction ceremony still will be held in June, with the upcoming ceremony June 10 in Knoxville.
Sherri Coale, Jackie Stiles, former official June Courteau and the gold-medal winning U.S. team of the 1996 Atlanta Olympics were among the inductees this past summer.
