Five things I'm looking forward to in Saturday's All-Star Game (ABC, 3:30 p.m. ET):
1. Big game: I want to see the Sparks' Candace Parker and the Sky's Elena Delle Donne go head-to-head. These 6-foot-5 superstars are the only two players in the WNBA right now who have the size and mobility to play every position on the floor. They can handle, shoot with range and post-up. They are the future of the "Big Girl" in the league and the players I will tell my own exceptionally tall daughters to watch and try to emulate.
2. Rutgers remix: Chicago's Epiphanny Prince is often compared to New York's Cappie Pondexter when discussing the young Sky star's game and potential. The lethal East starting backcourt will hoist plenty of shots and probably play little defense -- which will make their college coach C. Vivian Stringer cringe -- but make things exciting for those watching in Mohegan Sun Arena.
3. Think ink: Who has the more impressive artwork on her arms -- Brittney Griner or Seimone Augustus? Ideally, we'll find out after Seimone has broken an ankle with her "rock-a-bye-bye" move or while BG is dunking on some poor soul.
4. Taurasi: Need I say more? Phoenix's Diana Taurasi is back to MVP form on the court and always entertaining off it. WNBA fans have a love/hate relationship with her (depending on which team they root for), but there should be nothing but love in Connecticut for the woman who brought three national titles to the state's flagship university.
5. Coach speak: Lin Dunn and Cheryl Reeve, who both provide humorous commentary during games, will be mic'd for this contest. In last year's WNBA Finals, we caught Coach Dunn telling her players that the officials had "their panties in a wad," and who can forget Reeve getting a technical after throwing her jacket (inspiring the Twitter handle CherylReeve'sJacket)? Each will give us something worth hearing.
