Wagner coaching success nets extension at Oregon St.

CORVALLIS, Ore. -- Oregon State women's basketball coach
LaVonda Wagner, in her second year with the Beavers, has been given
a one-year contract extension through the 2011 season.

Wagner led the Beavers to a 16-15 record -- 10 more wins than the
previous season -- and an appearance in the WNIT.

The Beavers were expected to finish last in the Pacific-10
Conference, but their 7-11 conference record, which included sweeps
of Arizona and Washington State, was good for seventh place.

"LaVonda has proven her ability to move this program forward
exponentially in so many ways," athletic director Bob De
Carolis said. "This extension will insure that with her leadership we
will have stability and consistency in our program for years to
come."
