Duffy tallies 16 points, four steals for Irish

SOUTH BEND, Indiana (Ticker) -- Megan Duffy scored 16 points

to lead Notre Dame to a 52-50 victory over No. 23 Boston College

in Big East Conference action.

Duffy, who went 6-for-11 from the floor, drained a jumper with

2:02 left to break a 48-48 tie and give the Irish (13-7, 6-2 Big

East) the lead for good.

A sophomore guard, Duffy was responsible for all five of Notre

Dame's 3-point attempts -- hitting three -- and recorded four

steals.

Le'Tania Severe added 15 points and three steals for the Irish,

who improved to 9-0 at the Joyce Center.

Jessalyn Deveny recorded her third double-double of the season

with 13 points and 12 rebounds and Kathrin Ress had 14 points

for the Eagles (14-5, 4-4 Big East), who have dropped four of

their last six games.

Amber Jacobs added 10 points for Boston College but missed two

potentially game-winning 3-point attempts within the final 30

seconds.
