PHILADELPHIA -- Kahleah Copper and Betnijah Laney scored 20 points apiece to lead No. 17 Rutgers past Temple 88-55 on Wednesday.
Laney was 10 of 15 from the field and had five rebounds, four assists and three steals. Copper only missed four of her 12 attempts and grabbed seven rebounds.
Rachel Hollivay added 14 points with four blocks for Rutgers (8-1) and Tyler Scaife scored 10 and had six assists. Briyona Canty finished with nine points, eight rebounds, five assists and five steals.
The Scarlet Knights' defense held Temple to 20-of-66 shooting (30.3 percent) and forced 21 turnovers.
Temple led 14-12, but Laney scored the next eight points and Rutgers used a 12-0 run for its first double-digit lead. Laney had 16 points at halftime, on 8-of-9 shooting, as Rutgers held a 45-27 advantage.
Tyonna Williams hit four 3-pointers and finished with 14 points for Temple (3-6).
Rutgers will host No. 11 Tennessee on Sunday.
