WACO, Texas -- Khadijiah Cave scored 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, Kristina Higgins had 16 points and 10 rebounds, and No. 13 Baylor beat Utah State 99-43 Friday night in an opening game of the Travelers Classic.
Imani Wright scored 12 points and had six assists, Nina Davis scored 11 and grabbed eight rebounds and the Lady Bears (2-1) outshot the Aggies from the field 47.7 percent to 24.3 percent.
Tilar Clark led Utah state (1-3) with eight points.
Cave hit a jumper and Baylor never looked back, opening with a 22-8 run in which Dekeiya Cohen scored seven straight points. The Lady Bears led 50-22 at halftime, with Cave and Imani each scoring 9 points.
Baylor used a 16-2 run to pull to a 79-35 second-half lead and cruised.
Cave, who came into the game averaging 18 points and six rebounds off the bench, made 10 of 11 free throw attempts.
