UConn senior Breanna Stewart, who has won three consecutive national championships, headlines the 2015 Wooden Award watch list.
Of the 30 names included on the annual watch list of the best players in the country, six of them are from either top-ranked UConn or No. 2 South Carolina. Guard Moriah Jefferson and forward Morgan Tuck join Huskies teammate Stewart, the 2015 Wooden Award winner, on the list. The Wooden Award has been given to the nation's best women's college basketball player since 2004.
Senior guard Tiffany Mitchell, junior post Alaina Coates and sophomore forward A'ja Wilson, who helped the Gamecocks reach their first Final Four last spring, were included.
Wilson is one of seven sophomores on the list, including Ohio State's Kelsey Mitchell, who led the nation in scoring last season, Diamond DeShields, who is in her first season at Tennessee after transferring from North Carolina following the 2014 season, and Duke 6-foot-6 center Azura Stevens, who is the tallest player on the list.
No. 5 Baylor was represented by two players: All-America forward Nina Davis and senior guard Niya Johnson.
More than half the players on the list are guards, including Notre Dame junior Lindsay Allen, Duke's Rebecca Greenwell, Florida State's Leticia Romero and Maryland's Shatori Walker-Kimbrough.
The Pac-12 is represented by Oregon senior forward Jillian Alleyne, Washington junior Kelsey Plum and Stanford guard Lili Thompson.
Other nominees include Ohio State's Ameryst Alston, Florida State center Adut Bulgak, Northwestern forward Nia Coffey, West Virginia's Bria Holmes, Maryland's Brionna Jones, George Washington's Jonquel Jones, Michigan State junior Aerial Powers, Notre Dame's Brianna Turner, Mississippi State's Victoria Vivians, Texas A&M's Courtney Walker and Courtney Williams and South Florida guard Courtney Williams.
The national award winner and a five-player All-America team will be named after the 2016 Final Four in Indianapolis in April.
