INDIANAPOLIS -- Wisconsin administrator Terry Gawlik has been chosen the next chairwoman of the NCAA women's basketball championship committee.
She has already served four years on the committee and will succeed Pac-12 associate commissioner Chris Dawson on Sept. 1.
Gawlik started at Wisconsin as an administrative assistant and event coordinator in 1994, and in 2005 was promoted to senior associate director for sports administration, a title she still holds. She played multiple high school sports in Texas, earned her bachelor's degree from Southwestern University in 1981 and her master's at Texas State in 1983.
Gawlik has coached volleyball, basketball, tennis and track and field, and she has served on the Division I women's volleyball and men's soccer committees in addition to the basketball committee.
The announcement was made Wednesday.
