The UConn women's basketball team will now begin its season Dec. 12, as the No. 3 Huskies have added a 1 p.m. ET game against UMass Lowell at Gampel Pavilion in Storrs, Connecticut.
The game will be the UConn debut for the consensus No. 1 recruit, guard Paige Bueckers.
On Nov. 23, UConn announced it had temporarily suspended team activities for at least 14 days after a member of the program tested positive for COVID-19. It forced the cancellation of the Basketball Hall of Fame Women's Challenge that was scheduled for Nov. 28-29 and made UConn pull out of the Jimmy V Women's Classic, which will now feature No. 5 Louisville vs. No. 20 DePaul on Friday.
The Huskies' game at Seton Hall, originally scheduled for Dec. 6, has been moved to Dec. 17. UConn's Big East opener remains Dec. 15 against Butler at Gampel Pavilion.
