LONG POND, Pa. -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. was hospitalized
briefly Saturday after crashing at Pocono Raceway during practice
for the Pennsylvania 500.
Earnhardt Jr., 25, crashed the car owned by his father in
the second turn. He did not lose consciousness but went to Lehigh
Valley Hospital in Allentown for a precautionary CAT scan.
Earnhardt Jr. was released from the hospital and returned to the
track later in the day for the final practice before Sunday's race.
He will drive a backup car, meaning he will be in the rear of
the field when the race starts. | |
