BOX SCORE
HAMILTON, Ontario (Ticker) -- Danny McManus threw a pair of touchdown passes and Ronald Williams scored on two short runs as the Hamilton Tiger-Cats pounded the lowly Toronto Argonauts, 42-12, in their annual Labor Day battle. McManus overcame four interceptions by completing 22-of-36 passes for 331 yards. He gave Hamilton (6-3) a 9-0 lead in the final minute of the first quarter with a 50-yard scoring strike to Archie Amerson. Late in the third quarter, McManus hooked up with Corey Grant for a 55-yard score that stretched the Tiger-Cats' advantage to 28-11. Williams, who carried 19 times for 53 yards, went in from the 1-yard line in the second quarter and scored from the 2 in the final period. Hamilton has taken the last three Labor Day meetings from its provincial rival and leads the holiday series, 24-6. The Tiger-Cats also spoiled the coaching debut of "Pinball" Clemons, who replaced John Huard last week. Clemons actually suited up and caught one pass for five yards, leaving coaching duties to defensive line coach Wally Highsmith. Wayne Shaw scored the lone touchdown for Toronto (1-7-1) on a 44-yard interception return in the second quarter. But the Argos' winless streak reached eight games (0-7-1). Toronto's Jimmy Kemp was 21-of-39 for 168 yards with two interceptions.
