BOX SCORE
HAMILTON, Ontario -- The Hamilton Tiger-Cats posted the most lopsided victory in team history as Danny McManus threw five touchdown passes en route to a 65-15 thumping of the mistake-prone Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Saturday. The 50-point rout eclipsed Hamilton's 67-21 victory over Saskatchewan on October 15, 1962. The Tiger-Cats (6-5) took advantage of nine turnovers and erupted for 42 unanswered points in the second half. McManus was just 10-of-17 for 101 yards and a touchdown at halftime, but went 9-of-11 for 191 yards and four scores thereafter. He blew open a tight contest with third-quarter scoring strikes of 22 yards to Andrew Grigg and 60 and 16 yards to running back Archie Amerson. McManus' 35-yard TD toss to Corey Grant early in the fourth quarter made it 51-15 before Eric Lapointe ran for a pair of late scores. Ronald Williams had two short touchdown runs in the first half for the Ti-Cats, who never trailed after Paul Osbaldiston's 49-yard single off a missed field goal snapped a 7-7 tie in the opening period. Kerwin Bell passed for 300 yards for Winnipeg (2-9) but combined with backup Troy Kopp to throw six interceptions. The Blue Bombers also fumbled three times and committed 22 penalties for a stunning 187 yards. Not surprisingly, they went down to their seventh straight defeat.
