Pringle's 3 TDs power Alouettes

REGINA, Saskatchewan -- Michael Pringle ran for three touchdowns and quarterback Anthony Calvillo accounted for two scores as the Montreal Alouettes defeated the Saskatchewan Roughriders 41-26 Sunday.

Pringle carried 23 times for 155 yards as Montreal (9-4) snapped a three-game road losing streak and stayed two games in front of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats for first place in the East Division.

Steve Sarkisian threw a pair of TD passes and Mike Saunders had a scoring run and catch for the Roughriders, who are a CFL-worst 3-10 after a four-game losing streak.

Pringle raced 39 yards for a score in the first quarter and found the end zone from 2 yards out in the second, tying it at 14 and starting a string of 27 consecutive points. His 4-yard run 4:42 into the fourth gave Montreal a 41-15 cushion.

Calvillo accounted for consecutive TDs in the third quarter, scoring on a 7-yard run for a 27-14 lead and finding Alfonzo Browning from 73 yards for a 34-14 advantage.

Calvillo completed 17 of 23 passes for 312 yards as Montreal racked up 466 yards of total offense to 351 for Saskatchewan. Terry Baker kicked a pair of field goals for the Alouettes.

Sarkisian was 21-of-39 for 303 yards with three interceptions, hooking up with Reggie Jones 10 times for 132 yards.

Browning and Ben Cahoon combined for 217 yards on nine catches for the Alouettes.
