Duval won Hole 2 because Woods missed a near-gimme putt.
Duval, smiling after his birdie win on Hole 1, had the honor on the par-5 hole 2. But his first shot jumped off a bunker, landing in the rough awkwardly on a small ridge. Woods responded by drilling his tee shot on the fairway beautifully.The twosome then walked to their second shots together, chatting along the way. Duval's second shot hit the green and rolled off by only a few feet. Off a perfect lie on the fairway, Tiger powered the ball past the green into the crowd, setting up a difficult chip on his third shot. Tiger's third shot was too delicate, landing on the edge of the green, while Duval also chipped poorly, also hitting the cusp of the green. Woods birdie putt, about 20 feet away downhill, rolled by the hole to the right, setting up a par shot from about 5 feet away. Duval's shot curved left from the start and landed inches from the hole, and Tiger gave him his par. Woods 5-foot putt then hit the lip of the cup too hard and rolled out, going two down in this match-play competition.
