Karrie Webb looks to add yet another title to her 2000 season when the State Farm Rail Classic begins Friday at The Rail Golf Course.

Celebrating its 25th anniversary as part of the LPGA Tour, the Rail Classic has slightly altered its schedule this year to allow for a Sunday finish. The traditional Labor Day tournament had previously started on Saturday and finished on Monday.

Webb is the start attraction this year, looking for her seventh title of the year and her first at the Rail Classic. She is one of just four players in the top 10 on the LPGA Tour money list entered this week, joined by No. 5 Pat Hurst, No. 6 Rosie Jones and No. 7 Cristie Kerr.

Kerr is currently locked in a battle with Kelli Kuehne for the final automatic berth on the United States Solheim Cup team, which will battle a European team in early October. Kuehne is not in the field this week.

Last year, rookie Mi Hyun Kim won the first of her two 1999 titles, holding off 1998 champion Pearl Sinn and Janice Moodie by one shot. She finished at 12-under 204 for the week, topped by a opening-round 66.

Kim joined an elite list of past champions of the tournament, which has always been played at Rail Golf Course. Betsy King, Pat Bradley, Nancy Lopez and JoAnne Carner are all multiple winners of the tournament, with Bradley setting the standard in 1991 with a 19-under 197 total.

The event has featured numerous playoffs in recent years, with five of the past eight tournaments decided in sudden death.

Next up on the LPGA schedule is the Betsy King Classic in Kutztown, Pa.
