About the show
ESPN Radio presents the latest golf news, including previews from the final rounds of all major tournaments, every Sunday from 6-7 a.m. ET on ESPN Radio: The Golf Show. It will lead into ESPN Radio's regular Sunday morning programming - ESPN The Magazine on ESPN Radio.
Twenty-year sports broadcaster John Rooke, who grew up walking the famed fairways of Colonial Country Club, the home course of Ben Hogan, hosts the weekly program, which includes several regular segments, including:
Jim Kelly on the Senior PGA TOUR
Laura Baugh on the LPGA
Mike Tirico, Curtis Strange or other ESPN/ABC commentators on the PGA Tour
Kevin Weickel, head golf professional at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, with the "Tip of the Week"
ESPN Radio: The Golf Show also features interviews with players and other golf newsmakers, as well as the latest developments in golf equipment. "I look forward to providing the latest golf news and previewing final-round action of the major tour stops every Sunday morning - a key time slot for serious golf fans," says Rooke, who claims his golf goals are to "play Pebble Beach, St. Andrews, and just 'walk' through Augusta -- forget playing it." Rooke adds, "Unlike most other sports, golf is similar to football with just one tournament a week for each Tour, and The Golf Show will preview the deciding day of each tournament. We'll also look at upcoming events, present interviews and cover topical issues from the world of golf."
