SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts (Ticker) -- Martin Gendron scored twice and set up the other tally in a three-goal second period, leading the Springfield Falcons to a 3-2 victory over the floundering Providence Bruins. Gendron's power-play marker snapped a 1-1 tie and he got an assist on Philippe Audet's 21st goal that made it 3-1. Mike Sylvia got back a goal in the third period for the Bruins, who have lost seven straight. Patrick DesRochers made 30 saves for Springfield, which has won four of its last five games.
