CINCINNATI (Ticker) -- Johan Hedberg made 39 saves Peter Roed set up both goals as the Kentucky Thoroughblades edged the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks, 2-1, for their fifth straight win. Hedberg lost his shutout bid with 4:41 remaining when Scott Ferguson scored his 14th goal. But Hedberg turned aside all 25 shots he faced over the first two periods for the Mid-Atlantic Division champions. Gregg Naumenko made 25 saves for Cincinnati, which closed the season by losing four straight and seven of its last eight games. The Ducks finished last in the Mid-Atlantic.
