QUEBEC (Ticker) -- Antti Laaksonen ignited a three-goal spurt early in the third period as the Providence Bruins defeated the Quebec Citadelles, 4-1, in Game One of their best-of-five playoff series. Laaksonen broke a 1-1 tie five minutes into the final period on assists from Eric Manlow and Cameron Mann, who scored an empty-net goal with 10 seconds remaining in the contest. Peter Ferraro also netted a goal in the third frame for Providence, which will skate at Quebec in Game Two on Thursday. John Grahame stopped 19 of 20 shots for the Bruins, who swept the season series versus the Citadelles, 4-0. Jason Ward tied the contest 4:41 into the final period for Quebec, which lost despite outshooting Providence, 46-20. Eric Fichaud of the Citadelles registered 42 saves.
