CINCINNATI (Ticker) -- Viacheslav Butsayev and Ed Patterson scored just under two minutes apart in the second period as the Grand Rapids Griffins downed the Cincinnati Cyclones, 5-2. Butsayev, who is second on the team with 26 goals, scored the first of two goals at 11:20 of the middle period and Patterson followed to give Grand Rapids a 3-0 advantage. Mike Fountain make 33 saves for the Griffins, who have won four straight games and eight of their last nine. Derek King recorded a goal and a pair of assists for Grand Rapids, which opened a two-point lead over East Division rival Orlando. Greg Adams and Greg Dandenault scored for Cincinnati, which fell to 1-5-1 against the Griffins this season.
