GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan (Ticker) -- Randy Petruk turned away 39 shots and the Cincinnati Cyclones defeated the Grand Rapids Griffins, 3-2. Petruk had 18 saves in the final period to secure his 13th win of the season. Todd Simon scored the go-ahead goal with 2:03 left in the second period for Cincinnati, which beat Grand Rapids for just the second time this season (2-6-2). Erik Cole's marker with 7:31 remaining in the middle session snapped a 1-1 tie for the Cyclones. Yves Sarault cut the Griffins' deficit to 3-2 with 14 seconds left in the second period. Jani Hurme stopped 24 shots for Grand Rapids, which had its six-game winning streak snapped.
