GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan (Ticker) -- Michel Picard scored two goals and had and an assist for the Grand Rapids Griffins, who sent the Detroit Vipers down to their 12th straight defeat, 4-2. Picard notched the eventual game-winner 2:29 into the third period and added his second goal just 3:30 minutes later. Jani Hurme recorded 20 saves to earn his 29th win for Grand Rapids. Ed Patterson and Derek King each contributed a goal for the Griffins, who improved to 8-2 in their last ten games. Dale Rominski and Matt Elich scored goals for the Vipers, who finished the season in last place. Kevin Hudson turned away 22 shots in a losing effort for Detroit.
