Outfielder still reeling from getting hit Sunday

Associated Press

ARLINGTON, Texas – Texas Rangers outfielder Ruben Mateo was scratched from the lineup for the game Monday against the White Sox because of a headache and dizziness during batting practice.

Frank Catalanotto replaced Mateo in right field, getting his first outfield start in 328 career games.

The Rangers said Mateo was feeling the effects of being hit on the helmet by a pitch in the seventh inning of a 2-0 victory over the White Sox on Saturday.

Mateo stayed in that game and then was 3-for-3 Sunday, his first three-hit game since May 31 last season.
