| Granted the Tigers aren't very good, but I know there are more than just two teams that are worse than they are. Detroit has beaten Texas four straight games in the past week, yet Texas is ranked seven positions higher than them. Does paying more money for a bad team get you a higher ranking? Sure seems like it.
Bill Jones Raleigh, N.C. I don't know how in the world you can drop the Blue Jays after they handed the Mariners their first series loss of the entire season. What gives? Let's show some respect to Canada! Frank Zorblack St. Catharines, Ontario Can someone mention the fact that all of Cleveland's games so far have been against sub- .500 teams. OK, I will (yeah, yeah, yeah, they're part of the reason that they are sub-.500 teams). They don't play a winning team until the Yankees on May 25th! Let's wait until they start playing New York, Boston, Toronto, Minnesota, and Seattle. And about the Yankees, throw Oakland into your list and the Yanks are 13-0 against losing teams, and 6-14 against winning teams. P.K. Morris Keene, N.H.
Jeff Valliere North Royalton, Ohio As a die hard Pirate fan, I couldn't agree more that Derek Bell must sit. To waste at-bats on him, while Craig Wilson and Emil Brown sit is ludicrous. Dan McBride Pittsburgh Hey, thanks for giving the Phillies props for this incredible month and a half of great baseball. Even the people in Philadelphia, the over-zealous idiots who believe a winner out of anybody (Flyers winning the cup this year, yes we did believe), think the Phillies aren't going to last, but we love Larry Bowa. I think he is a lock for manager of the year if he keeps the club at the .500 level. Jake Goldblum Abington, Pa. Absolutely pathetic! The Blue Jays walk into Safeco and do what no other team has done all year and how do they get rewarded? They drop three spots in the rankings. I am scared to think where you will rank them when they aren't rag dolling the team with the best record in the league. Brad Hodge Calgary, Alberta
Dave Simon New York The Indians will overtake the Twins next week. I'll bet my Jim Thome bobble head doll on it! Paul Cvar Indianapolis Yeah, it would be great to see Kevin Brown vs. Pedro Martinez in the World Series opener. And for Game 2? Chan Ho Park vs. Hideo Nomo. Now that would be great as well.
