Jordan will return to court for first time in two months

ESPN.com news services

WASHINGTON -- Michael Jordan will resume his workouts on Saturday, a Washington Wizards source told the Washington Post on Friday.

Jordan

Jordan, who didn't finish the season because of recurring soreness in his knees, hasn't been on the floor for two months. He sat out 22 games last season. Jordan had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee on Feb. 27, returning three weeks later before missing the final seven games of the season with inflamation in the knee.

He averaged 22.9 points per game when he did play.

Wednesday, Jordan's trainer Tim Grover said an announcement on Jordan's status was probably two weeks away. Jordan signed a two-year contract to play with the Wizards before last season, and he's said he intends to play one more year.

A Wizards spokesman told the Post that Jordan has been spending the offseason in Chicago and wouldn't be travelling to Washington.

Jordan has not been in Washington during much of the offseason and presently is in Chicago, a Wizards spokesman said, adding that Jordan does not have imminent plans to travel to Washington.
