New Hampshire's leading scorer out of semifinal

Associated Press

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- University of New Hampshire leading scorer Lanny Gare will sit out Thursday night's semifinal game against Cornell University because of a dislocated shoulder.

Gare, who had 22 goals and 29 assists this season for New Hampshire, suffered the injury in the Wildcats' 1-0 win over Boston University in the Hockey East championship on March 15.

"I feel for him, he's a kid who's done a lot for the program," New Hampshire coach Dick Umile said. New Hampshire (27-7-6) is slated to meet Cornell in a Frozen Four semifinal game Thursday (ESPN2, noon ET).
