OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. -- Despite not playing for the past two weeks due to winter exams, the UCLA Bruins reclaimed the top spot in the ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 poll with 14 of the possible 18 first place votes. Arizona, the recipient of the other four place votes, dropped to No. 2 after splitting a double-header with Cal State Fullerton. Texas rejoined the top five after a one week hiatus with a series sweep of Iowa State. Nebraska fell out of the top five for the first time this season after splitting a series with No. 4 Oklahoma and being swept by No. 20 Texas A&M. DePaul improved to 16-3 this week and makes its first appearance in the Top 10 after sweeping Conference USA foe UAB. Oregon State dropped out of the top 20 for the first time this season after splitting with San Diego. Ohio State fell three spots to No. 24 after posting a 1-4 record at the Chevron Invitational in Honolulu, Hawaii this past week. The ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 poll is voted on by NCAA Division I coaches representing 15 different ASA regions and 12 different collegiate conferences. The poll is also voted on by selected softball media members. Records are as of March 23rd. First-place votes are in parentheses.
